Nowadays, many energy saver devotees have been discovering ways to produce their own energy. One current hot trend is with DIY (do it yourself) solar power kits. These have gained popularity because of their versatility and ease of installation. Given today's scenario where we are faced with an energy crisis, the demand for solar power and home solar power kits has been rising dramatically.
With one weekend and a few hundred dollars investment, you can install your own solar power kits, which will generate all the electricity you need for own home. Moreover, this source of energy is 100% renewable, as it is powered by the sun. Protecting the environment is just another benefit of these great little inventions.
Power Tool Kit
I installed my own power kit recently, and want to share these easy steps with everyone. The instructions that come with the kit tell you everything you need to know, but before you buy you can see what is involved in the simple three steps below.
1) Installing your solar kit is not much different from setting up a personal computer with various hardware and devices. The power panels are considered to be the easiest equipment to set up with the use solar power kits. The solar cells are already set up in a combined circuit, which means all you have to do is connect them to the panel itself. For this, you will need a soldering gun. Once you connect the solar cells to your board, you just need to connect the board to the plastic base platform for support. This platform will be the base for the panel, which you will then fasten to your roof.
2.) There are also specifications on the items you should acquire in setting up solar power at home. You need to have inverters, batteries and silicon PV modules about 32 Watts with charge controllers. If all these components are already bought, you could already start installing the power kits and begin generating your electricity. There is also the wiring for the electricity flow upon using the energy produced, but if you are familiar with basic wiring design you will have no problem there.
3.) Once the panel is completely assembled, you will actually attach the your power panels to your roof. In most cases the roof top is the best place to put your solar panels, since it is directly exposed to the sun. However, you need to test your solar power kit before you fix it to your roof. Make sure that you are charging your inverter, and that you are getting good efficiency. Once the panels are on the roof, it is much more difficult to figure out wiring and electricity flow issues. Finally, the inverter is the last step. This is the device that converts the electric current generated by the solar power kits from DC to AC power. This unit will normally go in your garage or basement so you can monitor your power production and consumption indoors.
